We are looking for a civic organization or group who would be willing to support this operation for a donation to participating organization. Requirements, Personnel must be able to stand for a four hour shift outdoors. Be able to make change - A "Cash Only" environment. Shelter provided to get out of the sun... water is provided. If volunteer works two or more shift a "Day of Choice" pass to the event will be provided to enjoy the show.

Set up and customer service during event

We need helpers for set up for the day before the event. Able bodied persons to help hang banners and set up tables inside the LAMA tent in Paradise City. We need volunteers to help out in the tent each day as ambassadors, to answer questions and greet Sun'n'Fun show attendees when they come to the tent.

For set up: able bodied, ladder climbing to hang banners, and arrange tables and chairs. Pound stakes for feather flags and other signage. Know how to use tools and think of good ideas to make space look nice. During the Expo: friendly, knowledgeable about Light Sport and Kit built aircraft is a plus.

1/2 day schedule each day, would be good, starting on Tuesday, through the end of the show on Sunday. We are busiest in the morning and then late in the afternoon when the main airshow is over, and the light planes start to fly in the evenings. We close the tent at about 6:00 p.m. most days.

Gas Welding instructors

We need more gas welding instructors, but we will train you. Once trained, you will be working one-on-one with participants who come in during the event to learn how to perform basic welding. We have many individual work stations and use steel test strips for this purpose.

Experienced welders would be great, but we are willing to train folks who want to give back once they have sufficient skills and confidence to share what they have learned. All ages are welcome, from 18 up.

The shop operates from 9 to 4 daily, but you can work whatever time within this that is convenient for you is fine. Come join the Hands-On Workshop Family.

Miniture Wing Rib Builder

The Hands On Workshops have a Wood Shop where participants are invited to learn skills required to work on wood aircraft. One section is devoted to a miniature version of a wing rib, where they can learn the basics of building a rib. We need an instructor who has some knowledge of carpentry and is willing to learn how to help folks build their own little rib with the jigs we made specifically for this purpose.

Although carpentry skills are a plus, we are wiling to train someone who is interested in sharing what they have learned. They would need to be willing to learn how to use woodworking machines (planer and fret saw) and learn the techniques required to build a wing rib on a small scale. (using glue and stapler)

The shop is open 9 to 4 daily, but anytime within that time frame is fine. We will work with you on time and duration. Come join our Hands On Workshop family and share with others.
