Two Runs, One Cause: Aerospace Education

Well then have we got a deal for you! The Aerospace Center for Excellence is hosting the inaugural Test Your GPS 5k on February 8 and the Lakeland Linder International Airport will host the annual SUN ‘n RUN 5k on April 4 during the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo (March 31 – April 5, 2020).
A unique twist on the on the community 5k, the Test Your GPS run challenges your GPS enabled tracking device to keep up with you. The all-terrain race is thoughtfully plotted to produce a surprise image on your GPS screen at the completion of the race. A great course for varying skill levels, proceeds from this race benefit CFAA PLANES, a network of parents supporting aviation education. For race day information or to register, click here. Run, walk, or skip back on April 4 for the premier road race in Lakeland, the SUN ‘n RUN 5k at the Lakeland Linder International Airport. The race will begin on the Terminal Ramp as the start line is flanked by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. During the run you will be able to witness the launching of over twenty (20) hot air balloons as the course winds its way down Runway 5/23, Taxiway A, and across various other connecting taxiways and ramps to the finish line.
