SUN ‘n FUN Aerobatic Headquarters
The mission of the Aerobatic Center is:
To provide a place for aerobatic enthusiasts to gather and have a place to park their airplanes during the annual SUN ‘n FUN Fly-in.
To provide social and educational opportunities for all.
Sponsor safety forums in the SnF forum area, and in the Curtis Pitts memorial museum/ classroom. The emphasis of the forums is on better airmanship to provide safer piloting.
For the purposes of this section, aerobatic flight means an intentional maneuver involving an abrupt change in an aircraft’s attitude, an abnormal attitude, or abnormal acceleration, not necessary for normal flight. From FAR 91.303.
At the Aerobatic Center we promote Stall, spin awareness, unusual attitude recovery training and better airmanship through aerobatic proficiency.
We also maintain a list of aerobatic schools and instructors for those that are looking to improve their flying skills.
SPREAD THE WORD! We invite all aviation enthusiasts to stop by and enjoy the shade and hospitality.
If you are flying in, check the NOTAM for arrival information. It is available at the SnF web site sun-n-fun.org. Put a sign in your window with large letters ACRO and you will be directed or the Aerobatic Center.
Pitts Museum/ Learning Center: 30 feet long x 8 feet wide. Insulated and paneled. Will have storage for pictures and documents. Would like to digitize pictures and documents so they could be shown on a video screen.
For more information email me at: email@example.com, or call me at: 952-334-0789.
I would love to see a lot of beautiful little Pitt Specials parked at the Aerobatic Center. Other acro birds welcome too. Let’s have a good time honoring Curtis and sharing many Pitts stories.
This year we will be opening the Curtis Pitts memorial library/education center. The center will be a repository of things Pitts – pictures, papers, memorabilia, artifacts. If you have anything to contribute, bring it along. Stop by and share in the fascinating history of a great airplane designer. You will be surprised at the influence this one man had on the world of aviation, especially aerobatics.
