Possibilities and limitations of flying drones presented
LAKELAND — A Polk State College professor and Emmy award-winning drone videographer hosted the Unmanned and Sunny drone expo at Sun ‘n Fun’s Florida Air Museum on Wednesday.
Attendees learned what they could do and not do with their unmanned aircraft systems and had the chance to watch Dan Foard, a videographer and aerial cinema pilot, fly his drone.
Ryan Wallace, professor of aerospace science, talked about about potential uses for drones — flying for money, education or fun — and went over common guidelines UAS pilots needed to follow.
For instance, drones cannot be flown higher than 400 feet and must be within the pilot’s eyeshot. Read more on The Ledger website.
