YearlyBird Volunteer Program

If you are local to the SUN ‘n FUN campus and would like to volunteer with us year round our “YearlyBirds” we have plenty of opportunities for you. Volunteering in our Museum, Summer camps June – August, Education out-reach programs in Polk County Schools, Maintenance department – lawn care, carpentry, plumbing, tool crib, our Museum reception desk, maintenance for the Museum, working with Museum on exhibits and working with administration office – knowledge of excel, Word and familiarity with the internet are always needed. We have events like car shows, dog shows, BBQ cook-offs, and more fun just waiting for you to be a part of.

  • We have a program in place to keep track of you hours which are very important to us. Volunteer hours helps us apply for grant monies to help develop our education program. We are building brighter futures for students in aviation every day with your time and talents.
  • The YearlyBird volunteers are treated to a lovely banquet in October. Awards are given for hours of service. The YearlyBird with the most hours from (October 1st. – September 30th) OUR EAGLE award receives a special award recognizing his/her hours of service. Here are a few more of the of the awards presented – Museum memberships, Florida Attractions discounts, gift cards, either a shirt or a gift with the YearlyBird emblem embroidered on it. Last year it was a Red House Canvas bag. It’s a surprise every year.
